Bringing the light of Christ to the darkness of prison

Kairos is a well-organized and well-trained volunteer teams of men and women from the communities surrounding an institution present an introductory 3½-day weekend, described as a short course in Christianity.  This interdenominational team of volunteers – both clergy and laypersons – works in cooperation with the Chaplain who carefully selects up to 30 inmate leaders to attend.  A follow up program is part of this ministry, incorporating monthly reunion visits to the institution.

 Kairos Torch for Youthful Offenders

Kairos Torch offers unconditional love and acceptance, encouraging youthful offenders to share their life journey through participation in a long term mentoring process.  The program begins with a 40 hour retreat inside the prison.  Torch team members commit to a weekly one-on-one long term Christian mentoring process with the youthful offenders.

Kairos Outside for Female Family & Friends

Kairos Outside is a special weekend retreat designed to support the female loved ones of men and women who are or have been incarcerated.  Families of the incarcerated “do time” right along with their loved ones.  In a safe environment with loving people, women interact with other women who are in similar situations and learn to form small groups to support and give them strength for the challenges they face.

With your support, God is calling us to grow the Ministry and reach men, women and youth that are in prison.  The miracles of Kairos are taking place in over 360 prisons and ministries worldwide. Christ’s call in Matthew reflects God’s desire for us to meet human needs and bring Christ’s love to the abandoned.

Sponsor an inmate:

You can help an inmate come “heart to heart” with the love of God by financially sponsoring them for the Kairos 3-Day weekend. Families, Reunion Groups, Sunday School classes and companies can all have a part in ushering a lost soul to the doors of Heaven.

Have a church cookie bake:

Home made cookies, filled with prayer and love become tangible examples of the love of God poured out by His family. It takes about 2000 dozen cookies for a 3-day weekend event! What a great way to teach children about loving their “enemies”.

Placemats and posters:

Handmade place mats from children (no last names please) are a powerful tool of the Holy Spirit that can break a lifetime of sorrow.

Sunday schools, Bible Study Groups, Home Groups or even companies can make a poster that expresses the hope found in Christ. These messages of God’s love from the Body of Christ have a powerful impact on hardened hearts.
